How To Turn Off Or Adjust Mindfulness App On Apple Watch

After updating to the latest WatchOS for the Apple Watch, the device tends to send notifications for the Mindfulness app, which is an update to the former Breathe app in older WatchOS versions. So how do you turn off the notifications?

To turn off or adjust the notifications in the Mindfulness app, just go into settings on either the Watch or its app, then you can select Off, Mute for Today, or choose when you want to see them. To disable the vibrations, go into Haptics and select None.

The Apple Watch Mindfulness app could be a helpful tool for those interested in tracking their breath patterns, measuring sleep, and counting steps. For others, it is a less-needed tool, so it would be helpful to know how to turn off and adjust the notifications.

At times, adjusting notifications is not enough. For all of the tapping and menus to adjust a notification setting, you may want to turn it off entirely. Thankfully, there is a way to do this. There are also a few options for turning off Mindfulness Reminders.

Shut Off Notifications

Shutting off the Mindfulness notifications solves the issue for most people who want to avoid the notifications they don’t use. Doing this is a manual shut-off that allows you to turn it back on if desired but will not come on accidentally.

To shut it off completely:

  1. First, open the Watch app on your iPhone or iPad.
  1. Next, tap on the Mindfulness app.
  1. Finally, select in the drop-down menu for notifications Off.

Effectively, this will force the notifications to end unless you manually go in and switch them back on.

Shut Off for a Day

Maybe a total shut-off is not what you want but simply a pause for a special occasion or a day of rest. But, then, shutting off notifications entirely is unnecessary, but a mute for a day is a better option.

To shut off Mindfulness notifications for a single day:

  1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone or iPad.
  1. Tap on the Mindfulness app.
  1. Select the toggle Mute for Today

At the end of 24 hours, this toggle will become unselected, and notifications will continue.

How to Adjust Mindfulness Settings on Apple Watch

Adjusting the Mindfulness notifications is just as simple as turning them off without the finality of them being off entirely. In addition, changing the notification settings allows you to control what you want and how frequently you want them.

Once the app is opened, all the settings can be adjusted. To do this:

  1. On your Apple Watch, open Settings.
  1. Select the Mindfulness app.
  1. Here, you can select when you want reminders to be pushed to your notifications.

Using your iPhone or iPad provides you with even more options for customizing.

  1. Open the Watch app on your iPhone or iPad.
  1. Tap on the Mindfulness app.
  1. Select Allow Notification.

By allowing notifications, you are given options for when you want to see your Mindfulness reminders and adjust your Breathe Rate.

How to Adjust Reminders Schedule

Adjusting the reminder schedule is more than just selecting Start of Day or End of Day in the settings menu. The updated Mindfulness app allows you to determine the exact time you want to receive notifications.

To do this:

  1. Open the Settings menu.
  1. Next, select Allow Notifications below the category Mindfulness Reminders.
  1. Then choose Add Reminder

Here, you can choose the exact time you want the notification using the wheel. In addition, you are also able to choose the repetition of this reminder.

How to Disable Vibrations

Shutting off notifications, or adjusting the notifications, are the only ways to eliminate the notifications of the updated Mindfulness app to interrupt important occasions—one way of getting rid of these vibrating feelings while the app is running.

Here is how you do it:

  1. First, open the Watch app on your iPhone or iPad.
  1. Next, tap on the Mindfulness app.
  1. Select Haptics.
  1. Here, you will have the option of Prominent, Minimal, or None. Select None to stop all vibrations from the app.

To Conclude

The updated WatchOS Mindfulness app has nice features as it combines older versions of health and awareness applications into a single place in the new system.

However, there can be times when these frequent notifications are just too much, or the watch’s vibration is more harmful than helpful. Thankfully, turning off or adjusting the notifications is a simple solution.
