Return Policy Guide For GoPros

GoPros are a very popular camera for all sorts of people, not just those looking to document their next extreme adventure. These durable cameras are great for filming events, road trips, and day-to-day life. But what if you purchased one and it’s not quite right for your needs? Can you return your GoPro?

If you’re not completely satisfied with your GoPro, you may return it for a full refund within 30 days of receiving it, as long as the product has not been damaged by improper use. GoPro doesn’t cover the shipping costs and doesn’t accept liability for any damages or loss during return shipping.

So don’t worry if you’re not quite sure the GoPro is the camera for you — returns are always an option. Let’s take a look at what the return policy entails and how you can take advantage of it.

What Is GoPro’s Return Policy?

GoPro has a pretty straightforward return policy. If you’re unhappy with your purchase, you can return it within 30 days for a full refund. Keep in mind that you’ll need to include all original accessories and packaging, and the item must be in working condition.

To start a return, simply head to GoPro’s website and initiate the process online. You’ll need to enter your order number and the email address associated with your purchase.

Once your return is approved, you’ll receive a shipping label to send your items back. If you bought your GoPro from another retailer (like Amazon), you’ll need to follow their respective return policies. In most cases, you’ll have 30 days to make a return as well.

What’s Covered Under the Return Policy?

GoPro’s return policy covers certain defective items, damages that occurred during shipping, incorrect items, and items that you’ve changed your mind about within 30 days.

There are a few things to note when returning a GoPro camera:

  • Retailers must make their submissions on an official GoPro Return Authorization Request form. Authorized requests must be returned to the company within 30 days of the customer surrendering the product to the retailer.
  • The Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number should be obtained from GoPro Customer Support prior to returning the product. If this isn’t done, the product will be returned to the sender along with a 10% repackaging fee.
  • Distributors can only send back products sold to the customers and must produce a corresponding invoice to GoPro when submitting the return request form. Products must be in new, unused, and resalable condition, with all original accessories and packaging material included.
  • GoPro will only accept returns with defects if they’re manufacturer defects. If the returned product is confirmed to have a manufacturer’s defect, it will be repaired and the defective parts replaced with similar parts. GoPro will not accept returns due to Distributor’s stock rotation, GoPro Products being purchased in error or end customer’s remorse.

Failure to comply with any of the conditions above will result in a denial of the return.

How to Return a GoPro

There are two ways to return a GoPro: through an authorized retailer or directly to GoPro. If you purchased your GoPro from an authorized retailer, you’ll need to return it to the store you purchased it from.

The process will be similar to any other return at a retail store, and you’ll likely have 30 days to make the return.

To return a GoPro directly to GoPro, you’ll need to initiate the return process through their website. Follow these steps:

  1. Initiate the return using the Request Order Return form on the GoPro website. You’ll need your email address and order number to start this process. This step informs GoPro of your intent to return the product.
  2. Pack up your GoPro in its original packaging with all accessories. Include a printed copy of your return form inside the package.
  3. Write the RMA number (located on the RMA form) on the outside of the box.
  4. Obtain a receipt when you drop off the goods for shipping. Keep this on hand until the return is completed.
  5. Your return must be delivered to the carrier within seven days of submitting an RMA to receive a full refund. Late returns will not be accepted.
  6. After your item is received and approved, you will receive a refund using the same method you used to pay for it.

Do GoPros Have Warranties?

Yes, GoPro cameras come with a warranty that covers manufacturing defects. This warranty is valid for one year from the date of purchase. If you have a problem with your camera that is covered by warranty, you can contact GoPro Customer Support to begin the process of getting it repaired or replaced.

The GoPro warranty doesn’t cover damage caused by normal wear and tear, accidents, misuse, abuse, extreme conditions (like prolonged exposure to water or heat), unauthorized modifications, or attempted repairs by anyone other than GoPro.

If you have an issue with your camera that isn’t covered under warranty, you can still contact GoPro Customer Support to see if they can help you troubleshoot the problem. They may be able to help you fix the issue without you needing to send the camera in for repair.
