Traveling is stressful, especially for those who have to work on the go without some of the comforts of home. A travel charger can help to diminish some of these stresses, but which one is the best?

The IDMIX 20,000mAh PD30W is the best power bank on the market. It can charge devices at a rate of 30 watts, so all your devices will charge quickly. The charger also contains several different ports making it compatible with most of your devices and you can even charge it directly in an outlet!

What is the Best Travel Charger?

To answer your question: The one gadget I never travel without is IDMIX 20,000mAH PD30W Power bank(on Amazon).

On our website, we’ve investigated tons of travel-tech related topics like putting PS5s in carry on luggage and whether or not iPhones are dual voltage and will “just work” in countries with other electricity standards (spoiler: they will if you’re using the right plug!)

However, considering the breadth of travel/tech tips I’ve picked up, the battery pack mentioned above is THE one gadget I’d make sure I had with me. I’ve tested many–many–battery packs, and this one “just wins” for a few simple reasons:

Why is it Perfect for Traveling?

I don’t know about you, but when I travel, I don’t ever really know where the plugs are in my hotel room, or at a new coffee shop I’m trying out. The ability to have this battery pack in your bag and simply charge your devices in the bag, or wherever you are, means that you can charge the battery pack over night and basically deliver your own power to your devices when/how you want throughout the day.

Below, I’ll say a little more about these specific details, but, for traveling specifically, you never really have a good habit or system in place of keeping your devices charged. With it’s big capacity, general convenience, and capacity, this battery can be the one battery or charging brick you take on your entire trip, and for me, that’s why it wins as the one device above all that I’m taking with me.

 Convenience

This charger oozes convenience in many ways. First, the integrated USB-C charging cable can’t get lost, because it’s designed to be stored in the device! It’s pretty short–designed to be used near the outlet–but this is a small price to pay since you can simply bring your own longer cables to plug into either of it’s USB ports.

(It sports 1 USB-C and one USB-A port, and if you don’t know what that means you can check out the difference at this link to our site.)

The next step in convenience comes with the integrated charging plug, which collapses into the footprint of the device when not in use. This means you don’t have to carry around a separate charging brick and cable just to charge the battery bank! This is incredible, reducing clutter and the things you need to pack overall.

Finally, the ability to charge all your devices including your laptop means that you can throw anything at this battery pack and not worry that there will be some mismatch in ability. The “PD30W” description in the name of the device indicates it can charge up to 30watts, which is why it has the ability to charge your laptop.

This also means it charges very fast, and so smaller devices like iPhones and iPads and Apple Watches really do charge faster using this power bank than they would with their own bricks in most cases.

The one caveat here is that the MacBook ships with it’s own beefy charger equipped to charge the laptop quickly. This battery bank can replace that bulky adapter, meaning you have one less blocky electronic to shoehorn in!

 Capacity

With 20,000 mAh of power, this portable power bank is designed for charging laptops. This is important, because it means they have enough power to charge a laptop, and thus can charge basically any other device you’re taking with you multiple times over.

If you need backup battery capacity, I’ve found that this one provides plenty, so you don’t even need other backup batteries with you (you don’t need a dedicated battery for your phone and iPad, for instance).

 Flexibility

Lastly, the flexibility this device suddenly offers is hard to overstate. Since it can charge at the outlet, you don’t need to manage it with it’s own cables, which we’ve discussed already, but the other interesting thing is: this is a battery pack that doesn’t need to be plugged in to work!

I don’t know about you, but when I travel, I don’t ever really know where the plugs are and this can sometimes cause a bit of stress when you need to work on the go.

The ability to have this battery pack in your bag and simply charge your devices in the bag, or wherever you are, means that you can charge the battery pack over night and basically deliver your own power to your devices when/how you want throughout the day.

And, to demonstrate this flexibility even more, I’ll point out that I find a lot of convenience form this portable-power situation at home. Until I purchased this power bank, I didn’t realize how often I moved from my couch or desk or other work location to another simply to plug in my laptop or phone.

Now, I take the power bank wherever I want to be, and my computer and phone sometimes spend days at a time
