How To Pair Samsung Earbuds With A Laptop (PC Or Mac)

Samsung earbuds are known for their good battery life, diverse features, and strong bass. But they won’t be of much use if you don’t know how to pair them with your various devices. So, how do you connect Samsung earbuds to a laptop?

To connect your Samsung earbuds to a laptop, start by opening the laptop’s Bluetooth settings. Then, put your earbuds into pairing mode by holding down on both earbuds’ touchpads until you hear multiple beeps. Select the earbuds from the list of available devices, and they should be ready to go.

That’s the basic idea behind connecting your Samsung earbuds to a laptop, but the process varies depending on your device and operating system. Let’s go through this process in more detail so that you can start using your Samsung earbuds with whichever device you want.

First off, no matter what device you’re trying to pair your Samsung earbuds to, you’ll need to put them into pairing mode. If you’ve never paired them with another device before, simply taking them out of the case will put them in pairing mode.

However, if you have paired them with another device previously, all you have to do to put them in pairing mode is put the earbuds in your ears and hold down both touchpads on the earbuds until you hear the headphones beep multiple times. After this, your headphones will be ready to pair with the device of your choice.

In this case, of course, we’re trying to connect your Samsung earbuds to a laptop. However, the steps differ depending on which kind of laptop you use. Let’s go through how to connect Samsung earbuds to a Windows laptop as well as an Apple MacBook.

Connecting to a Windows Laptop

On Windows, the process is actually very simple. Most of the difficulty in connecting a Bluetooth device on Windows comes from actually finding the Bluetooth settings in order to connect the device.

To begin, right click on the Windows icon in the bottom left corner of the screen. This should bring up a list of options, and you should select the one that says “Settings.” This will bring you to the Settings menu where you should select the option that says “Devices.”

After that, you should be on the page for “Bluetooth and other devices” by default. If you aren’t, you can simply select it from the list on the left. Now, you need to turn on the Bluetooth toggle at the top if it isn’t already and then click on the plus sign next to “Add Bluetooth or other device.”

Here, you’ll be given a list of choices of methods to connect devices. Select “Bluetooth” and a list of available devices should appear. If your Samsung earbuds don’t appear on this list, make sure they’re in pairing mode by holding down on both earbuds’ touch sensor until they beep.

Once your earbuds appear on the list, select them and your laptop should connect. Now, you’re ready to use your Samsung earbuds for your laptop’s audio.

Connecting to a MacBook

Connecting your Samsung earbuds to your MacBook laptop is even easier than it is on a Windows device. In fact, it only takes a couple of steps.

To begin, open your MacBook and go to the Apple menu at the top of the screen. Here, you need to select “System Preferences” and then “Bluetooth” from the list that appears. This should open up a page that lists all of the devices you can possibly connect to.

In this devices list, you should see the name of your Samsung earbuds listed. If you don’t, make sure they’re in pairing mode by holding down the touchpad on both earbuds at the same time until you hear a series of beeps. Once you see your earbuds on the list, select “Connect” next to them, and the sound from your computer should be coming out of your headphones.

If you ever want to disconnect your headphones from your MacBook, you can just place them in their charging case, which should cut their connection to the computer. However, this will only disconnect them from the computer for the period while they are in the case.

If you want to disconnect them from the MacBook completely, then you’ll need to repeat the steps above, except you can select “Disconnect” where the Connect button was.

Will All of the Features Work on Non-Compatible Devices?

Because Samsung earbuds are designed by Samsung, a company that makes Android phones, they’re designed specifically for use with Android devices. Unfortunately, this means that if you pair them with a computer, you won’t be able to use all of the features that your Samsung earbuds usually offer.

First off, one of the biggest losses when connecting your Samsung earbuds to a non-Samsung device is 360 degree audio.

This is a feature that makes your audio sound much more immersive by making it sound like the audio is coming from all directions. Unfortunately, this feature will only work when paired with Samsung devices.

Another feature you’ll be losing out on is Gaming Mode. Usually, when you use Bluetooth headphones, there’s a slight delay between what’s happening on your phone and what you hear coming from the headphones. However, if you put your Samsung earbuds into Gaming Mode, then this delay will be removed — at the cost of battery life.

You’ll also lose out on Samsung’s intuitive seamless switching feature. This feature allows you to switch your earbuds’ audio from one Samsung device to another with the press of a button. If you’re paired to a non-Samsung device, then you’ll need to manually pair your earbuds to each device if you want to switch.

Troubleshooting Tips

One of the most common issues that people have when they connect their Samsung earbuds to their computer is that audio is still coming from the laptop’s speakers, despite the fact that the headphones say they are connected. Thankfully, this problem is easy to fix; you just need to change your audio output settings.

To do this on a Windows laptop, look in the bottom right corner of your screen for the audio icon (it should look like a speaker with sound waves coming out of it). Right click on this icon and then select “Open Sound settings.”

Once you’re in the sound settings, you should see text at the top that says “Choose your output device” with a drop box directly below it. The items in this list reflect the options for audio output. Open the dropbox, select your Samsung earbuds, and your sound should now be properly coming from your earbuds.
