Finding The Number Of Views On Your TikTok & Other Analytics

TikTok currently boasts more than 1 billion active accounts, meaning every user has a chance to reach a massive audience. Sadly, not everyone does, and that’s where analytics comes in. Here’s what to know about finding the number of views on your TikTok and other analytics.

You can see who has viewed your TikTok profile over the last 30 days. You can also see the number of views for your videos. TikTok analytics fall under the Overview, Content, Followers, and LIVE categories. You can access them from the Analytics tab once you’ve created a Business account.

If you can track the right metrics, you’ll quickly hone in on the effective tactics that elevate your performance. That way, you can filter the hype from reality. So let’s get started, so you know what to look out for.

Can You Check Your Views on TikTok?

TikTok on the web

You can see who has viewed your TikTok profile over the past 30 days using the “Profile View History” feature. However, you’ll only see who has checked your profile if they have activated the feature. You can also see how many people have viewed your TikTok videos, but you won’t tell who exactly they are.

You won’t be entirely left in the dark, though, as you can see who has liked or commented on your videos from the Activity section.

Here’s how to keep up with the number of views your videos have earned on TikTok:

  1. First, launch the app and tap the Me icon at the bottom-right corner.
  1. Then, on your profile screen, tap the Timeline icon. It’s the tiny stack of 6 vertical lines below the Edit Profile button.
  1. You’ll see the number of views at the bottom left corner of each video you’ve posted. It updates every time you refresh the page.

While you won’t see specific accounts that have viewed your TikTok videos, the number of views is a valuable indicator of how much traction your video content is getting and its popularity.

How to Find Your TikTok Analytics

Tiktok App on Mobile

You’ll find your TikTok analytics from the Analytics tab once you switch to a Business account. You want to do this as soon as possible so the platform can track your published content and general audience.

TikTok highly recommends Business accounts as they offer many creative tools that empower businesses to think like marketers while acting as creators.

Here’s how to create a TikTok Business account:

  1. Launch TikTok and tap the Profile icon at the bottom-right corner.
  1. Tap the Hamburger Menu in the top right to open settings.
  1. Tap Settings and Privacy, then select Manage Account.
  1. Tap Switch to Business Account under the Account control tab.
  1. Select the category that best suits your account. You can add your business website URL and email to your profile.
  1. Once you’ve set up your Business account, you can navigate to the Settings menu and see the Analytics tab.

While you may have access to the analytics, you won’t see the data. This is because you’ve only set up your account, and TikTok may take up to 7 days to show your account’s analytics.

Here’s how to check TikTok analytics on mobile:

  1. Navigate to your Profile.
  1. Tap Settings and Privacy, then go to the Accounts tab.
  1. Select Creator Tools, then tap Analytics.

You can also check TikTok analytics on your desktop by signing in to the TikTok web platform. First, hover over your profile picture, then click on View Analytics.

Unlike the mobile app, you can download your analytics data from the desktop dashboard.

How to Interpret Your Analytics

TikTok analytics fall under the categories of Overview, Content, LIVE, and Followers. Here’s how to interpret what they mean:

Overview Analytics

The Overview tab shows three crucial metrics—your Video views, Followers, and Profile Views. You can check analytics from the last week, 30 days, or two months. You can even set a custom date range. Here’s how to interpret them:

  • Video Views: You’ll find this at the top of the Overview tab. It shows you how many views you’ve gotten in total or on individual days in the past one to four weeks.
  • Followers: This graph is crucial as it can help you pinpoint a growth surge for a particular video post. By aligning the dates, you can figure out what content performed exceptionally well and drove more conversions.
  • Profile Views: The last section under the Overview tab highlights the number of users who have viewed your profile in the previous 7 to 28 days. Since it’s broken down by day, you can determine the content driving people to view your profile.

Content Analytics

The Content tab allows you to measure your video performance. For example, you can track the top nine videos with the fastest growth over the past week from the “Trending Videos” section. You can also check the total views for each video.

Other metrics to watch under Content analytics include:

  • Total number of comments
  • Total shares
  • Total like count
  • Average watch time
  • Total playtime
  • Watched full video
  • Reached audience

Followers Tab Metrics

The Followers tab will help you learn about your audience in terms of their demographics and interest, so you know which content best suits them.

The Gender metric informs you how your audience is distributed based on sex. TikTok also ranks your audience by country, as seen in the “Top Territories” filter.

Follower activity shows you the times and days when your followers are consistently active so you can post regularly within that time slot. You can also see your followers’ videos and the sounds they’ve listened to.

LIVE Analytics

The LIVE tab gives you stats for your live videos over the past 7 to 28 days. These include the total views, total time you’ve spent hosting live videos, and the new followers you’ve gained within a given date range.

You can also track your top viewer counts and virtual gifts you’ve received, including Diamonds.
